Press Release: HURRICANES RE-SIGN RIGHT WING CRAIG ADAMS

SECOND-YEAR FORWARD SIGNS TWO-YEAR DEAL

RALEIGH, NC (July 31, 2001) - Jim Rutherford, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, announced the team has agreed to terms with right wing Craig Adams on a two-year contract. As per club policy, no terms were released.

Adams (6’0’’, 200 lbs.) scored one point (1g, 0a) in 44 regular season games with the Hurricanes last season, his first in the NHL. He was a healthy scratch in 31 games and missed four games with a bruised sternum (Dec. 3-13, 2000).

Adams, a ninth-round draft pick in 1996 from Harvard University, also played four regular-season games last season with the Cincinnati Cyclones (IHL), tallying one assist. He had one assist in eight playoff games for the Cyclones.
