RALEIGH, NC (Aug. 22, 2000) – Ken Lehner, Vice President of Marketing Communications for the Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the second annual “Caniac Carnival” will take place at the Entertainment and Sports Arena on Sunday, Sept. 23.

The Carnival will feature the Hockey Hall of Fame Legends exhibit, an open practice, autograph session, a town meeting with Hurricanes President Jim Cain, a question and answer session with coach Paul Maurice and many other interactive activities. There is no admission charge and parking is free to the event, which begins at noon and ends at 5 p.m.

“Caniac Carnival” surrounds the team’s practice and is a great way for fans to have the opportunity to interact with their favorite Hurricanes players. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a wristband that gives them priority in the autograph lines.

The event also includes locker room tours, bench and Olympia machine photo opportunities, Bud Light Bubble Hockey, Pepsi Fun Truck, the Canes Mobile Hockey Tour Championships and open tournament, inflatable games and attractions, and live music by Sleeping Booty. All concession, merchandise and ticket stands will be open to the public.

The event is also sponsored by WRAZ Fox 50, Mix 101.5 (WRAL) and 850 The Buzz (WRBZ).
