THE QUICK HITS:
Last One, Fast One:Tonight is the fifth and final contest on the Hurricanes' preseason schedule. They enter tonight 4-0 with wins over Florida (twice), Tampa Bay and Columbus.

8-1 victory over the Blue Jackets

Show Us What You've Got:This evening will be an important contest for players making one final push toward making the opening night roster. Derek Stepan, who remains on a tryout, had two goals and one assist in Monday's win. Ryan Dzingel and Stefan Noesen both also had multiple points. Calvin de Haan, Dylan Coghlan, Jalen Chatfield and Ethan Bear, all battling for the final few spots on defense, will all be dressed.
Producing On The Power Play:Although it has consisted of numerous different players taking turns on each unit, it is worth nothing that Carolina's power play is 7/17 thus far this preseason. They've had multiple goals in three of their four outings.
Roster Trimmed:The Canes assigned three more players, William Lagesson, Ronan Seeley and Grigorii Dronov, to the Chicago Wolves Monday, bringing their camp roster down to 41. To view the full release and updated roster,
