GAME NIGHT
The Carolina Hurricanes play the second game of a two-game homestand at the Entertainment & Sports Arena as they host the Atlantic Division leading Philadelphia Flyers. Carolina fell 3-2 to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday in Raleigh. Carolina has lost just twice in its last 11 games (6-2-3) and currently sits in first place in the Southeast Division (79 points).

CAROLINA NOTES
Hurricanes captain Ron Francis has accumulated 17 points (7g, 10a) in 12 games since the Olympic Break. A potential candidate for the Hart Trophy as the league’s MVP, as well as the Lady Byng, Selke and Masterton trophies, Francis was sixth in the league in scoring (70 points), sixth in assists (45), first in power-play points (37), second in power-play assists (25) and fifth in power-play goals (12) through games of March 26. He was sixth in the league in faceoff percentage (58.0%) and also leads Carolina in games played (73), game-winning goals (5) and shooting-percentage (16.6%).
With his next victory, goaltender Arturs Irbe will tie Mike Liut for first on the franchise’s all-time victories list with 115. Irbe is second in franchise history in goals against average (2.43) and first in shutouts (19).

CAROLINA / PHILADELPHIA NOTES
The Carolina Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Flyers meet tonight for the final of four matchups this season. The Flyers won the teams’ first three meetings this season, beating Carolina 4-3 in overtime in Philadelphia on Dec. 22, 2001, 4-3 at the Entertainment & Sports Arena on Jan. 6 and 4-2 at the First Union Center on Jan. 26. Philadelphia won the regular season series last season against the Hurricanes with a 3-1-0 record. Carolina trails the all-time series 21-45-10-2, including a 12-20-7-0 mark at home.

PHILADELPHIA NOTES
Flyers captain and former Hurricane Keith Primeau scored a pair of goals in his return from a strained rib injury and the Flyers extended their unbeaten streak to four games. Flyers goaltender Roman Cechmanek has been out with a high ankle sprain since suffering the injury on March 2 against the Rangers. The Flyers lead the Atlantic Division by nine points with 11 games remaining.
