GAME NIGHT
The Carolina Hurricanes take on the Atlanta Thrashers in the second gameof the teams' home-and-home set on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the RBCCenter. Carolina rebounded from a 3-1 first-period deficit and won 4-3at Atlanta's Philips Arena on Friday. Jeff O'Neill notched his secondcareer hat trick in the game.

Right wing Jeff O'Neill currently leads the Hurricanes in points (25)and assists (17). O'Neill tied Pat Verbeek (192) for fifth on thefranchise's all-time goal-scoring list with his hat trick at Atlanta onJan. 16. On Jan. 11, O'Neill passed Verbeek (403) and took solepossession of third place on the franchise's all-time points list withan assist on Eric Staal's goal. Forward Josef Vasicek leads the team ingoals (12), power-play goals (5) and ranks second with 21 points.

Hurricanes captain Ron Francis is one goal shy of Maurice Richard (544)on the NHL's all-time goal-scoring list... Hurricanes winger JeffO'Neill will take sole possession of fifth on the franchise's all-timegoal-scoring list with his next marker... On Jan. 13, the Hurricanesrecalled winger Pavel Brendl from their American Hockey Leagueaffiliate, Lowell. In his first two games with the Hurricanes thisseason, Brendl has notched a goal and two assists while playing on aline with Jeff O'Neill and Eric Staal.

CAROLINA / THRASHERS NOTES
The Hurricanes and the Thrashers meet tonight for the third of sixregular-season match ups, and second game of a home-and-home series thatbegan with a 4-3 Carolina win at Philips Arena on Friday. Jeff O'Neillnotched his second career hat trick in Friday's game to lead theHurricanes past the Thrashers. The Hurricanes defeated the Thrashers 5-1at the RBC Center on Nov. 13, as Erik Cole (1g, 1a) and Ron Francis (1g,1a) led the scoring. The teams meet three more times in 2003-04following tonight's game: March 5 and March 15 at Philips Arena andMarch 12 at the RBC Center.

Last season, Atlanta scored its first two regular-season victoriesagainst the Hurricanes after Carolina posted a 12-0-3-0 record againstthe Thrashers in Atlanta's first three seasons. Atlanta downed theHurricanes for the first time on Dec. 27 in Raleigh and again March 26in Atlanta. Carolina won two of the teams' five matches, including onein overtime on Dec. 20 at Philips Arena. Jeff O'Neill posted six points(3g, 3a) in the five-game regular-season series to lead Carolina andIlya Kovalchuk led Atlanta with nine points (6g, 3a). The Hurricanes are16-2-4-0 all-time against the Thrashers, including a 9-1-1-0 home recordand a 7-1-3-0 road mark.
