GAME NIGHT
The Carolina Hurricanes continue their five-game road swing on Friday atPittsburgh's Mellon Arena. Carolina has earned at least one point ineach of its last nine road games (2/23-3/17: 6-0-1-2), including wins infour of the last five road games (3/5-3/17: 4-0-0-1). The Hurricanesopened their current five-game road trip with a 5-1 win at Tampa Bay onMarch 13, but suffered a 1-0 overtime loss at Atlanta on March 15 beforerebounding on Wednesday at United Center with a 3-2 win against theBlackhawks.

CAROLINA NOTES
Hurricanes centerman and alternate captain Rod Brind'Amour played in his1,100th NHL game on March 17 at Chicago's United Center. Brind'Amourmarked the milestone game by earning three points and the game's firststar. His first assist of the game came on Craig Adams' first-periodgoal, and marked his 900th NHL point. Brind'Amour later tipped in a SeanHill point shot for his ninth goal of the season, and then earned thefirst assist on Erik Cole's game-winner with 4:22 remaining inregulation as the Hurricanes beat Chicago 3-2... Brind'Amour became the114th player in NHL history to play in 1,100 or more games, and the 10thplayer to cross that milestone in 2003-04, joining Teppo Numinen, MikeKeane, Cliff Ronning, Mark Recchi, Trevor Linden, Joe Sakic, BrianLeetch, Jeremy Roenick and Scott Young. Brind'Amour played his 300thgame with the Hurricanes on Feb. 28 at Montreal.

AGAINST THE PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
The Hurricanes and the Penguins meet for the fourth and final time thisseason, Friday at Mellon Arena. The teams played to a 1-1 tie on Oct. 22at Mellon Arena, with Ron Francis scoring the lone goal for theHurricanes. Radim Vrbata notched his second NHL hat trick in Carolina's4-3 victory at the RBC Center on Nov. 29, and the Hurricanes scored a2-1 overtime win in Raleigh in Peter Laviolette's first game as headcoach on Dec. 18.

Last season, the teams split a four-game series, winning once at homeand scoring a shutout win on the road. Craig Adams (0g, 3a) and KevynAdams (2g, 1a) led Carolina against Pittsburgh in 2002-03 with threepoints each. Goaltender Kevin Weekes recorded a 4-0 shutout on March 6at Mellon Arena en route a 2-1-0 record in three games againstPittsburgh. Weekes posted a 1.01 goals-against average and a .961 savepercentage against the Pens in 2002-03. The Hurricanes are 38-43-11-0all-time against Pittsburgh, including a 21-21-5-0 home mark and17-22-6-0 road record.
