Andersen Update

The first player on the ice for today's full-team skate? Frederik Andersen.
For the first time since suffering a lower-body injury on Saturday, April 16 in a loss to the Colorado Avalanche, Andersen worked for about 20 minutes with the team, equivalent to about half of today's practice. The netminder filled a net as Antti Raanta took a rest day, leaving Andersen to turn away pucks along with Pyotr Kochetkov and Jack LaFontaine.
"It was great to see him. We love to see Freddie out there. I don't think I scored on him once today, so he's still a great goalie.," Sebastian Aho lightheartedly offered.
As far as what's next on the goaltender's road to playing in a game?
"I'll tell you when he's an option, how about that," Rod Brind'Amour offered following the skate.

Power Play Focus

As expected after yesterday's 0-for-3 effort on the man advantage, the power play had it's fair share of focus during today's effort.
The biggest notable change though was a shift in personnel, as Nino Niederreiter and Teuvo Teravainen switched units.

Is it going to be difficult for the top unit to adjust to the swap?
"Not at all," Aho began when asked. "Nino's a great a player. I've played with him a lot in the past. It's a long season, everyone has played with everyone, so it's not an issue at all."
"He's a really big body in front of the net," Seth Jarvis provided of the Swiss winger. "He's a great presence there and always finds those dirty rebounds to bang home."
As far as what else the special teams units were going over today?
"Just a bunch of new wrinkles, new looks, more options," Jarvis continued. "We have a ton of plays we run and we just wanted to add different variations of them. Getting different looks always helps."

Comments From The Other Side

Rangers Head Coach Gerard Gallant was

, specifically what transpired between Max Domi and Ryan Lindgren at the final horn.
Then, this morning New York forward Ryan Reaves had some thoughts on the subject as well.
Carolina's reaction to the words?
"He really said that? I don't know what he's talking about," Rod Brind'Amour began first on Gallant's comments. "We don't really have guys that send messages. We pulled the goalie there to have a six-on-five. We had Martin Necas and Jesperi Kotkaniemi out there. Whatever."
When it came to Reaves' comments, "I don't know what he's waiting for then. Everybody is going to do what they do this time of year. I'm hoping Andrei Svechnikov scores goals. You have to do what you do this time of year, or what good are you? You have to contribute and do what you're supposed to do. I would expect nothing less."
Sebastian Aho did not seem concerned either. "It's playoffs. It's pretty normal to get hit, or make a hit. It's a battle out there. I'm not surprised if I get hit in a playoff game. Obviously you just have to be ready for it."
