RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Following a successful season-openingnine-game road trip, the Carolina Hurricanes finally move into the RaleighEntertainment and Sports Arena tonight when they battle the New JerseyDevils.

After moving from Hartford, the Hurricanes played at the Greensboro Coliseumin front of sparse crowds while posting a 36-30-16 record. The $158 millionEntertainment and Sports Arena seats 18,700 for hockey games.

With the new arena not completed until just recently, the Hurricanes had toopen the season by playing their first nine games away from home. Theycompleted a 4-2-3 trip Saturday with a 3-2 victory over Pittsburgh.

Sami Kapanen leads the Hurricanes with seven goals and six assists. RonFrancis is second on the club with 12 points.

Christening a building is nothing new to the Devils this season. They openedtheir season by playing the first game at Philips Arena in Atlanta and dealtthe Thrashers a 4-1 defeat.

New Jersey put an end to a brief two-game losing streak Wednesday night witha 2-1 victory over St. Louis. Martin Brodeur was once again stellar in goal,stopping 23 shots. He has a 5-1-1 record with a 1.64 goals-against average. The Devils won four of five meetings from the Hurricanes last season.
