Canes and Kioti Tractor Announce 'Assist for Hunger' Partnership

Program will provide relief to childhood hunger in North Carolina

RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes and KIOTI Tractor have created the "Assist For Hunger" program, a multi-year partnership to help end childhood hunger in North Carolina. In conjunction with the Hurricanes' 20th anniversary season in North Carolina, KIOTI Tractor will make a $20 donation to the Kids 'N Community Foundation for every Hurricanes assist during the regular season. The donation will support Urban Ministries of Wake County, whose mission is to "engage our community to serve and advocate on behalf of those affected by poverty by providing food and nutrition, by promoting health and wellness, and by laying the foundations of home." The Hurricanes and KIOTI Tractor aim to raise $20,000 this season through the program.

Canes Announce Details for Opening Night

Hurricanes begin 20th Anniversary season with South Plaza party, hat giveaway and on-ice photo opportunity

RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes begin their 20th anniversary season and open their 41-game home schedule on Saturday against the Minnesota Wild at 7 p.m. Prior to Saturday's game, fans can enjoy a pre-game party on the South Plaza outside of PNC Arena. Beginning at 5 p.m., the South Plaza will feature live music, food and beverage, inflatables, street hockey, outdoor games and more.

Defenseman Justin Faulk and forward Jordan Staal will serve as co-captains this season and forward Jeff Skinner will serve as alternate captain. Staal will primarily serve as captain at home and Faulk will primarily serve as captain on the road.

For "Carolina Hurricanes Day," residents and visitors in the greater Raleigh and Triangle region are encouraged to show their support of the team by wearing their Hurricanes colors to school and work.

This partnership will further grow the Hurricanes' approach to reduce annual energy consumption and costs while improving fan comfort at PNC Arena. With Resolute's cloud-based energy management solution, the Hurricanes are now able to collect and analyze arena performance data in real-time, and use this data to develop and implement strategies to improve arena operations.
