STANLEY CUP TO VISIT NORTH CAROLINA JUNE 8, 9, 10
NEW YORK (June 3, 2002) – In keeping with the Stanley Cup's storied populist tradition, the 109-year-old symbol of hockey supremacy will visit Michigan and Carolina in celebration of the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals. The Detroit Red Wings will face off against the Carolina Hurricanes, who are marking the franchise's first berth in the Finals.
The Stanley Cup will be accompanied by Mike Bolt in Michigan and Phil Pritchard in Carolina. The Stanley Cup's itinerary is listed below. Media interested in having the Stanley Cup visit their studio and newsroom or in following the Stanley Cup as it travels through Michigan and/or Carolina must call Sandra Carreon at the NHL. Media will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
