News Release: PRINCE OF WALES TROPHY MAKES TRIANGLE JOURNEY

WILL BE ON DISPLAY IN VARIOUS AREA LOCATIONS

RALEIGH, NC (June 2, 2002) – As the Carolina Hurricanes begin their quest for the Stanley Cup, the Prince of Wales Trophy will be making the rounds in the Triangle beginning Monday.

The trophy, symbolic of the National Hockey League's Eastern Conference championship, will be transported around the Triangle for display at various locations. Here is the schedule for public viewing of the trophy:

Monday: Rex Hospital, 10 - 11 a.m.; Nortel Networks, 12 - 1:30 p.m.; Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.; WRAL-TV, 4 - 5 p.m.

Tuesday: State Capitol, 9 - 11 a.m.; Wake County Public Schools Rally at WCPSS Office, 11 - 11:40 a.m.; Kerr YMCA, 12 - 2 p.m.; Durant Elementary, 3 - 4 p.m.; Cool Bars at the ESA, 7 - 11 p.m.

Wednesday: Finley YMCA, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Green Elementary, 3 - 4 p.m.; North Carolina Museum of Art, 4 - 5 p.m.

Thursday: Durham Chamber of Commerce, 9 - 10 a.m.; Bond Park, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.; Cary YMCA, 2 - 3 p.m.; North Carolina Museum of History, 4 - 5 p.m.; Cool Bars at the ESA, 7 - 11 p.m.

Friday: Rex Hospital, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.; Crabtree Valley Mall, 3 - 5 p.m.

Saturday: Pre-Game Party at ESA, 4 - 7 p.m.; Game 3 vs. Detroit, 7 - 11 p.m.
