UPDATE: Brad Malone has cleared waivers and will remain on the Hurricanes roster.

Malone is eligible to play tonight when the Canes host the Bruins.

TORONTO – The Carolina Hurricanes have placed Brad Malone on waivers.

Teams have until noon on Friday to claim the 26-year-old forward. If no one claims Malone, the Canes can either opt to keep him on their roster or assign him to Charlotte of the American Hockey League.

Signed by the Hurricanes as a free agent in the summer of 2014, Malone has totaled 20 points (9g, 11a) in 102 games with Carolina. He’s skated in 37 games this season and tallied five points (2g, 3a). He last dressed on Jan. 24 against Calgary.
