Ex-Rangers scout to concentrate in Quebec

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2004) – Jason Karmanos, Vice President / Assistant General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that Martin Madden, Jr., has joined the team’s amateur scouting staff. Madden will primarily scout the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, identifying and assessing young talent for the Hurricanes.

Madden has spent the past seven seasons with the New York Rangers organization, the past four as a full-time member of the amateur scouting staff. Prior to joining the Rangers, Madden scouted for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. He graduated from McGill University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Montreal.
