KIDS ‘N COMMUNITY GOLF TOURNAMENT TO TAKE PLACE SEPT. 19
/ Carolina Hurricanes
Spaces still available for unique fundraiser; top foursome wins road trip with the Hurricanes
RALEIGH, NC – Emma Bennett, Community Relations Manager for the Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that spaces are still available for the annual Kids ‘N Community Foundation Golf Tournament, to take place Sept. 19, at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary. The popular tournament attracts hundreds of community and business leaders each year to play in foursomes with Hurricanes players, coaches, broadcasters and front-office executives.
“The golf tournament is one of our most popular and successful events each year,” said Bennett. “It gives executives and leaders from across the state the opportunity to play and mingle with our players and contribute to a great cause.”
A tournament sponsorship is $650 for an individual player or $2500 for a foursome, of which a portion is tax-deductible. All proceeds generated from the event go directly to the Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation. The Kids ‘N Community Foundation provides much needed funding to children’s charities and education programs throughout North Carolina. With ongoing support from players, annual special events and the corporate community, the Foundation has funded scholarship programs, youth hockey, educational and literacy efforts, children’s health programs, the arts and other children’s related initiatives. Annually, the Foundation provides cash and in-kind contributions totaling nearly $1 million to charitable and educational programs in North Carolina.
This year’s tournament features a pairings party and player draft on Sept. 18 at the RBC Center, which includes luxury-suite tickets to the Hurricanes preseason match-up against the Florida Panthers. Prior to the party, each foursome will be assigned a pick in the draft based upon their date of registration. When their pick is called, they will select a participant from the available players, coaches and broadcasters to compete with their team.
The golf tournament itself will feature an assortment of hole competitions and sampling stations. The winning foursome of the day will take home the highly-coveted top prize of a road trip with the Hurricanes.
The annual tournament sells out quickly, so interested parties are encouraged to contact the community relations department immediately to reserve a space. Contact Anne Clinard Nelson, Community Relations Coordinator, at (919) 861-5494, or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
