RALEIGH, NC— Doug Warf, Director of Community Relations for the Carolina Hurricanes and Executive Director of the Kids ‘N Community Foundation, announced today that the Kids ‘N Community Foundation has completed its fall grant process and will donate $279,800 to 22 different local charitable organizations that benefit the children of the Triangle and North Carolina.
The fall grant cycle is the first of two grant cycles for the 2009-10 season. The total amount of $279,800 of in-cash donations for this cycle exceeds last year’s fall total of $279,720. The generous donation totals are attributed to the overwhelming support from Carolina Hurricanes fans, players and management through year-long fundraising efforts at Kids ‘N Community events and auctions.
The 22 fall grant recipients are: YMCA of the Triangle, WakeMed Foundation, Girl Scouts-North Carolina Coastal Pines, The Hill Center, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County., Carolina Hurricanes-Halifax County Schools, Marbles Kids Museum, Triangle Special Hockey Association, Salvation Army of Wake County, YMCA Chapel Hill-Carrboro, StepUP Ministry, Children’s Flight of Hope, Communities in Schools of Durham, North Carolina Arts in Action, The First Tee of the Triangle, Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC, Communities in Schools of Wake County, Hospice of Wake Coounty-Horizons Grief Center, Friends of Wake County Guardian AD Litem, April’s Angels, and Johnston County Arts Council.
