RALEIGH, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes will host a 2016 NHL Draft Party at PNC Area on Friday, June 24. The event will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m., with draft coverage starting at 7 p.m. The Hurricanes hold two picks in the first round (13th and 21st).
The event will take place on the club level in the Arena Club Restaurant, Club Ledge bar and applicable seating areas of PNC Arena. The draft will be shown on all televisions in the restaurant and bar, as well as on the video board. A special draft day food and beverage menu will be offered with discounted pricing. Doors to the event will open at 6 p.m. Fans should park in the VIP lot and enter via the VIP entrance of the building.
The draft party will be hosted by Carolina Hurricanes television play-by-play announcer John Forslund and Canes alumnus and Hurricanes Live co-host Shane Willis, both offering their perspective on this year's draft. Forslund and Willis will break down this year's prospects and the Hurricanes picks, in addition to answering questions before and during the draft. Hurricanes Pregame/Web Host Michelle McMahon will join Forslund and Willis and will moderate Q&A sessions.
In addition to the exclusive draft coverage and insight, fans in attendance will receive a commemorative draft poster, have the chance to win Hurricanes autographs, team memorabilia and gear from The Eye team store. Stormy and the Storm Squad will be present for autographs and photo opportunities. Back by popular demand is the annual draft challenge for the first 13 picks in which the fan who correctly guesses the most picks will win a personalized Carolina Hurricanes jersey. Fans also will have the opportunity to look at available season-ticket locations and packages.
