Team staff to deliver cards, fruit baskets to seven centers


RALEIGH, NC—Doris E. Barksdale, Manager of Community Development for the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that members of the Hurricanes and RBC Center staff will visit area senior centers on Thursday, Dec. 7.

In support of the Meals on Wheels program, Hurricanes/RBC Center staff members and other community volunteers will visit seven senior centers in the Triangle area to spread some holiday cheer. The staff will deliver holiday cards with artwork designed by area students and fruit baskets to more than 400 seniors. The Hurricanes/RBC Center staff will visit senior centers in Morrisville, Garner, Wendell and Raleigh senior centers on Whitaker Mill Rd., Hargett St. and Tucker St.

The Carolina Hurricanes continue their four-game road trip against Northwest Division opponents on Wednesday at Edmonton (9:30 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) before concluding the road trip in Vancouver and Colorado on Friday and Monday, respectively. The Hurricanes will return to the RBC Center on Friday, Dec. 15, to face the Toronto Maple Leafs (7:30 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network).
