HURRICANES RELEASE 2006-07 MINI-SEASON TICKET PLANS

by Staff Writer / Carolina Hurricanes

Sixteen of 24 games in 24-game pack on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 25, 2006

RALEIGH, NC – Matt West, Vice President of Business Operations for the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s mini-season ticket plan offerings for the 2006-07 season. The team will again offer fans a 24-game plan as well as three different 10-game options.

The 24-game plan features the Hurricanes’ opening night match-up against the Buffalo Sabres as the team raises its 2006 Stanley Cup championship banner to the rafters of the RBC Center. The plan also includes 16 weekend games, and is highlighted by both games against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, as well as each of the team’s two home games against the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs. Both showdowns with playoff rival New Jersey and visits from Western Conference foes Dallas and San Jose are included, along with the Hurricanes’ New Year’s Eve game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Hurricanes are offering three different 10-game options. The Red package is entirely comprised of games that take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, including games against Eastern Conference rivals New Jersey, Montreal and Pittsburgh and Western Conference standouts Dallas and Anaheim. The White package features all weeknight games, including Thursday night match-ups with the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils and Wayne Gretzky’s Phoenix Coyotes. Six Saturday night games highlight the Black package, which also includes the New Year’s Eve game against Philadelphia and showdowns with Pittsburgh, Boston, Toronto, Los Angeles and San Jose.

Mini-season ticket plans provide fans with many of the same advantages of full-season ticket plans, including a discount off the gate ticket price, the chance to purchase individual game tickets before they go on sale to the general public and priority status for ticket packages for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. New for this season, mini-plan holders also have access to the Ticket Exchange Program, which allows fans to exchange unused plan tickets on one of the team’s pre-selected exchange game nights.

Mini-plan holders will also receive a special annual gift from the team, be able to keep the same seat for all of their mini-plan games and have the opportunity to purchase additional single-game tickets at the gate price to avoid service charges. Seat availability for the plans will be limited, with top seat locations reserved for full-season ticket plans and more prime seat locations reserved for the 24-game plans.

Fans who choose the 24-game package will earn additional benefits, including playoff priority for their exact seat location, the ability to purchase a premier parking booklet and a 10 percent discount on merchandise at The Eye, the official team store. Hurricanes mini-season ticket plans are available immediately.
