– Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the team has recalled goaltender Anton Khudobin
(hoo-DOH-bihn) from Charlotte of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Khudobin, 27, played two games during his conditioning stint with the Checkers, going 1-1 with a 3.03 goals-against average and .928 save percentage. He was named first star of Charlotte’s game on Monday night, stopping 41 shots in the Checkers’ 3-2 win at Rockford. Khudobin played three NHL games this season for the Hurricanes, going 2-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .929 save percentage, prior to suffering an ankle injury on Oct. 13 against Phoenix. Born in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, Khubobin has a career NHL record of 16-5-0 with a 2.03 goals-against average and .932 save percentage in 24 games with Minnesota, Boston and Carolina.
