Hurricanes Recall Keith Aucoin from Albany

Forward will be available for Carolina’s game at Nashville on Tuesday

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Keith Aucoin from the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League. Aucoin will be available for the Hurricanes’ game on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators at Sommet Center (8 p.m. ET, Versus HD, Hurricanes Radio Network).

This marks the fourth NHL recall this season for Aucoin. The Waltham, MA, native has skated in 11 games with the Hurricanes this season, recording two goals, four assists and a plus-6 plus/minus rating. Aucoin (5’9”, 187 lbs.) leads all River Rats skaters this season with 37 assists and 45 points, while playing in 38 of the team’s 50 games. He captained the PlanetUSA team at the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 28 in Binghamton, NY, and recorded two assists in the game. Aucoin, 29, is in his third season with the Hurricanes organization after signing as a free agent in 2005. In 26 NHL games, all with the Hurricanes, he has scored two goals and earned six assists (8 points).
