Forward to join Lowell for playoff push

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 3, 2004) - Jim Rutherford, President / General Manager of theCarolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned wingerRyan Bayda to Lowell of the American Hockey League.

Bayda, 23, completes his second season with the Hurricanes. In 44 games withCarolina during the 2003-04 season, the Saskatoon, Sask., native totaledthree goals and three assists (6 points). In 29 AHL games with Lowellthis year, Bayda (5' 11", 185 lbs.) has recorded seven goals and 14assists (28 points). Bayda has totaled seven goals and 13 assists (20points) in 69 career NHL games. The Hurricanes selected Bayda in thethird round, 80th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hurricanes complete their season on Sunday against the FloridaPanthers at Office Depot Center in Sunrise, Fla. The game will betelevised on Fox Sports Net with face-off set for 3 p.m.
