Forward played in five games with Carolina during recent NHL stint


RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the Hurricanes have reassigned forward Keith Aucoin to Lowell of the American Hockey League (AHL). Aucoin was recalled from Lowell on March 25 and has played in the Hurricanes’ last five games.

Aucoin, 27, ranks 10th in the AHL in points (77) and eighth in assists (51) through games of April 1. He registered an assist his last AHL game, Lowell’s 3-2 shootout win on March 24 at Tsongas Arena against the Providence Bruins. In 67 games with Lowell this season, the Waltham, Mass., native has 26 goals, 51 assists for 77 points to lead all Lock Monsters skaters. He made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes and January, playing in two games and earning one assist and has now played in seven NHL games this season.

The Carolina Hurricanes return to the RBC Center on Monday to face the Washington Capitals (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) in the first of three games between the Southeast Division rivals this week.
