Blueliner Sent to AHL for Two-Week Conditioning Stint

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 1, 2004) - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of theCarolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigneddefenseman Bruno St. Jacques (SAINT ZHAWK) to Lowell of the AmericanHockey League. St. Jacques is being reassigned for a two-weekconditioning stint.

St. Jacques, 23, has missed the Hurricanes' last 14 games with anabdominal strain. In 13 games this season, the Montreal, Que., nativehas notched one assist and accumulated six penalty minutes. St. Jacquesmissed one game with a shoulder injury, and has been a healthy extra forCarolina nine times.
