Frk, 23, was claimed on waivers by the Hurricanes on Sunday, Oct. 9. A second-round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings, Frk skated in two games with the Hurricanes, recording no points and a minus-3 rating.
This roster move precedes one that could be coming in the next few days. Hurricanes defenseman Ryan Murphy is nearing return from a lower-body injury suffered on Oct. 4. He was estimated to miss 3-4 weeks at the time and has been practicing with the team for the last week.
