RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has sent four players to its American Hockey League affiliate’s training camp, trimming the Hurricanes’ training camp roster to 26. Forwards Gordie Dwyer, Colin Forbes and Dave Gove and defenseman Bruno St. Jacques will join the Lowell Lock Monsters’ training camp which begins today at Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Mass.
Carolina’s 2005 training camp continues today with off-site team-building activities. The team will have workouts on Tuesday and Wednesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the RecZone before departing Wednesday afternoon for Florida. The Hurricanes play their final two games of the 2005 preseason at Florida on Thursday at 7 p.m. and at Tampa Bay on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Carolina opens the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Tampa Bay before returning to Raleigh for its home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, Oct. 7. Only a limited amount of individual-game tickets remain for Opening Night.
