Supovitz, Rutherford to be Joined by Business and Community Leaders

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 30, 2003) – Ken Lehner, Carolina Hurricanes Vice President of Marketing Communications, today announced that the team and the National Hockey League will unveil the 2004 NHL Entry Draft logo on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at a 12:30 p.m. news conference in the RBC Center’s arena club restaurant. The 2004 NHL Entry Draft will be held at the RBC Center, June 25-26, 2004.

On hand for the unveiling of the logo and interviews will be NHL Group Vice President of Events and Entertainment Frank Supovitz, Hurricanes President and General Manager Jim Rutherford and business and community leaders from Raleigh, Cary, Durham and Chapel Hill. Attendees of the Hurricanes’ 2003 prospects conditioning camp will also be on hand, including Eric Staal whom Carolina selected second overall in the 2003 Entry Draft. Lunch will be provided for the media beginning at 11:45 a.m.

The Hurricanes open their annual prospects conditioning camp on Saturday, Aug. 2. Workouts and training at RecZone, the team’s practice facility, begin Sunday, Aug. 3, and will continue through Wednesday, Aug. 6.
