Skinner records two points, Darling makes 25 saves in 2-1 win

CALGARY - The Carolina Hurricanes recorded their second straight win with a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Jeff Skinner scored his third goal of the season and also recorded the primary assist on Justin Williams' power-play goal in the third period. Scott Darling made 25 saves in his second win of the young season.

EDMONTON - Led by Teuvo Teravainen and Jordan Staal, the Carolina Hurricanes' offense broke through in a 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Teravainen scored two goals in the first period and Jordan Staal recorded a four-point night (1g, 3a) in the Canes' second win of the season. Additionally, Cam Ward made 48 saves in net.

Necas Ready for NHL Debut in Edmonton

18-year-old will center Lindholm and Aho in his first game

EDMONTON - The time has come for Martin Necas.

The 18-year-old forward will make his National Hockey League debut on Tuesday night when the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Edmonton Oilers.

"I'm looking forward to it. It will be fun," he said after the team's morning skate. "I'll enjoy the game and hopefully we get the win."

WINNIPEG - The Carolina Hurricanes fell to the Winnipeg Jets, 2-1, in their first regulation loss of the season.

Jeff Skinner scored a goal in his 500th career NHL game, but the Canes couldn't add to that on the scoreboard. Nikolaj Ehlers tallied the game-winning goal for Winnipeg in the third period.
