The fifth and penultimate game of the 2018-19 Hurricanes Homegrown Series is Friday, Feb. 15, when the Carolina Hurricanes return home from a season-long road trip to host the Edmonton Oilers.
Refined for its third season, the Hurricanes Homegrown Series features six games that showcase the best our local community has to offer in t-shirts, food, beer, art and music.
Here's an in-depth look at each Homegrown aspect for Friday night at PNC Arena.
Glory Days Apparel, a new Charlotte-based partner featured in the 2018-19 Hurricanes Homegrown Series, designed and produced the above t-shirt. When doors open at 6 p.m., 250 of these shirts will be available at the north end location of The Eye team store (section 112). Each $30 shirt is marked by a unique printed tag that denotes the game and shirt series, and there is a limit of two shirts per person per purchase.
The featured in-house, signature entrée is Brunswick stew: a three-meat blend of pork, chicken and beef stew loaded with butterbeans and veggies, and served with pan cornbread. You can get this for $10.50 at the section 109 concessions stand (where all Homegrown entrées are available this season).
The featured in-house, signature dessert is peach cobbler à la mode: sweetened peaches with a pillow-like topping served warm and topped with vanilla bean ice cream. This classic treat is available for $7 at the Homegrown Series dessert cart at section 111.
Flights, featuring four six-ounce pours, of Brueprint Brewing Co.'s beer will be available at section 114. You can select any combinations of the brews they offer, and the flights are priced at $13.
This poster, designed by local artist Gabriel Eng-Goetz, will be available free to the first 1,000 fans. Swing by section 108 to pick one up and chat with the artist, as well.
Runaway Cab, a local rock band, will perform live during the first and second intermissions.
