RALEIGH, NC (October 26, 2000) – Jim Cain, President and Chief Operating Officer for the National Hockey League Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the team’s home game against the New Jersey Devils on Friday, October 27 is sold-out. The team has a special partnership with Pepsi, the Wake Education Partnership and Wake County Public Schools in which Pepsi will donate $2 to the Wake Education Partnership for every fan in attendance at the game. The game will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
The next chance to see the Hurricanes in action will be on Sunday, October 29, as the team hosts last year’s President’s Trophy winners, the St. Louis Blues. The Hurricanes will host a Tailgate Party prior to the start of the game. The party will include food and beer specials in addition to a live band. The Hurricanes are also encouraging all fans to dress in costume for the team’s game on October 31 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Fans can trick-or-treat for candy at concession stands and the Hurricanes will be holding their own very special Halloween costume contest during the game. Intermission activities include the “Great Pumpkin Race” and a Pumpkin Toss.
