Hurricanes' Cam Ward Plays 500th NHL Game

RALEIGH, NCRon Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the Hurricanes will honor Cam Ward with a special pregame ceremony on Friday in celebration of the goaltender’s 500th NHL game played. Ward appeared in his 500th game tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Jim Gregory, Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations for the NHL, will be on hand Friday to present the league’s milestone award to Ward. Francis and Ward’s teammates will also recognize his achievement during the ceremony, and tributes will be shown on the PNC Arena video board throughout the game. In addition, the first 10,000 fans in attendance at the game will receive posters commemorating the milestone.

Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. on Friday night to witness the pre-game ceremony. Tickets for the game are available via CarolinaHurricanes.com, the PNC Arena Box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
