RALEIGH, NC (April 10, 2007) – The Hurricanes Booster Club will be awarded the 2006-2007 Southern Comfort Cup Championship during the NHLBC Convention during the weekend of August 10th - 12th, at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge, in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Scoring for the Cup race is determined by the head-to-head match-ups for each participating team following the NHL standard for points: 2 points for a win, 1 point for an overtime loss, and 0 points for a regulation loss. The Cup is presented to the winning booster club at the annual NHLBCC dinner during the NHLBCC convention weekend each August.

“While we’d rather have the team make another run at the Stanley Cup, the Boosters are very proud of our hockey club’s efforts this year.” Said Hurricanes Booster Club President Brian Williamson. “Winning the Southern Comfort Cup shows just how competitive the Canes were within the Southeast Division.”
