Hurricanes Assign Three to Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has assigned defensemen Brett Carson and Bobby Sanguinetti, as well as goaltender Justin Pogge, to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Carolina Hurricanes returned from Europe on Saturday morning after going 2-0-0 in their back-to-back regular-season games against the Minnesota Wild at Hartwall Areena in Helsinki, Finland, as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere. The Hurricanes will not play again until Thursday, Oct. 14, at Ottawa, but will return to the ice for practice on Sunday, Oct. 10, at the RBC Center at 10 a.m.
