RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has assigned forward Michael Ryan to Albany of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ryan, 28, was signed by the Hurricanes on Oct. 31, and played two games with Carolina after being recalled on Nov. 7. Prior to joining the Hurricanes, Ryan appeared in two games with Albany, notching one goal and earning two assists (3 points). The Boston native spent the past two seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, totaling four goals and four assists (8 points) in 46 games with the Sabres in 2007-08.
