Hurricanes Assign Bayda to Albany

Left wing has been with Carolina on emergency recall basis

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned left wing Ryan Bayda to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League. Bayda has been with Carolina on emergency recall since Monday, Oct. 22.

Bayda, 26, played in the Hurricanes’ three home games this week and has appeared in four games with Carolina this season. He has scored one goal in four AHL games this season. Bayda (5’11”, 185 lbs.) has scored eight goals and recorded 14 assists in 82 NHL games, all with Carolina. The Hurricanes drafted the Saskatoon, Sask., native in the third round, 80th overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, and re-signed him as a free agent in August 2006.
