Mascots from six other professional sports teams will be in attendance for ‘Stormy’s All-Star Weekend’ at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.

Entertainers from five other NHL cities will appear during the event, including Howler from the Colorado Avalanche, SabreTooth from the Buffalo Sabres, Thrash from the Atlanta Thrashers, Slapshot from the Washington Capitals and ThunderBug from the Tampa Bay Lightning. In addition, Sir Purr from the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers will join in the festivities.

The Carolina Hurricanes take on the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, January 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in a game that features goaltender Patrick Roy’s first visit to North Carolina since becoming the NHL’s all-time winningest goaltender earlier this season. Stormy’s All-Star Weekend festivities will include the introduction of the mascots before the game and ‘Mascot Musical Chairs’ during the second intermission. The Avalanche are currently the top-ranked team in the NHL.

The Hurricanes take on the New York Islanders on Sunday, January 7, at 5:00 p.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. The game features the continued celebration of Stormy’s Birthday. Fans will also have an opportunity to see the best mascots in the National Hockey League compete in a game of ‘Mascot Hockey’ during the second intermission.
