96 ROCK’S CHOPPER HARRISON TO HOST NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY
RALEIGH, NC (November 29, 2000) – Ken Lehner, Vice President of Marketing Communications for the National Hockey League Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s plans for a New Year’s Eve extravaganza in conjunction with Raleigh radio station 96 Rock, WBBB 96.1 FM. Chopper Harrison, 96 Rock’s morning show host, will be Master of Ceremonies of the First Annual ‘Canes 96Rockin’ New Year’s Eve on December 31, 2000 as the Hurricanes take on the Chicago Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m.
“This is the biggest New Year’s Eve party in the history of the Triangle,” said Harrison.“Everyone needs to come out and cheer the ‘Canes to victory and then party like hockey players into the night.”
The New Year’s Eve event will feature a post-game VIP party on the club level of the Entertainment and Sports Arena with a live performance by Liquid Pleasure and additional musical entertainment to be announced. Ticket packages for the event and post-game VIP party will be on sale beginning Saturday, December 9, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. through the Arena box office and all TicketMaster outlets. Fans can purchase a $96 package that includes either two lower level seats or four upper level seats plus passes to the post-game VIP party. Passes to the post-game VIP party are limited and the party is restricted to fans 21 and older.Hurricanes fans can “beat the box office” with Chopper Harrison, mornings on 96 Rock, starting on Monday, December 4 and win game tickets and passes to the post-game VIP party.
