Plans available in 10- or 24-game packages
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 16, 2003) – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League Carolina Hurricanes, today presented the team’s mini-season ticket plan options for the 2002-03 season. Partial season ticket holders can now opt for a 24-game plan or choose between three different 10-game packs.
“The Hurricanes mini-season ticket plans are a great way for fans to guarantee themselves tickets to some of our top match-ups of the regular season,” said Rutherford.
“These plans allow our fans to save money from the gate ticket price for individual games and earn many of the benefits of full-season tickets.”
The 24-game plan covers more than half of the Hurricanes’ regular-season games at the RBC Center and is the only mini-season package that includes Carolina’s home opener on Saturday, Oct. 11 against the defending Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils, and Carolina’s Jan. 2 game against the Detroit Red Wings. Also included in the 24-game plan are the New Year’s Eve match-up against the Western Conference champion Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and games against many of the NHL’s top teams, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars and Toronto Maple Leafs. Of the 24 games in the package, 19 take place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. All 24-game plan holders will be able to select their specific seats for the package.
The Hurricanes are offering three different 10-game packs from which fans can choose their favorite option. The Caniac Red Pack includes seven weekend games and features match-ups against Toronto, Boston, Pittsburgh and the NY Islanders. The Caniac White Pack includes five weekend and five midweek games and features match-ups against the NY Rangers, Philadelphia, Washington and New Jersey. The Caniac White Pack is the only mini-plan that includes the New Year’s Eve game against Anaheim and the final regular-season home game against the NY Islanders. The Caniac Black Pack includes five weekend and five midweek contests against Los Angeles, Montreal, Pittsburgh, NY Rangers and others.
All mini-season ticket plans provide fans with some of the advantages of full-season ticket plans, including a discount off the gate ticket price, the chance to purchase game tickets before they go on sale to the general public and priority status for ticket packages for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Mini-plan holders will also receive a special annual gift from the team, be able to keep the same seat for all of their mini-plan games and have the opportunity to purchase additional single-game tickets at the gate price to avoid service charges. Seat availability for the plans will be limited, with top seat locations reserved for full-season ticket plans and more prime seat locations reserved for the 24-game plans.
Fans who choose the 24-game package will earn additional benefits, including playoff priority for their exact seat location, the ability to purchase a premier parking booklet and a 10 percent discount on merchandise at The Eye, the official team store.
