Cole added to Carolina’s injured reserve list

RALEIGH, NC— Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated left wing Andrew Ladd from injured reserve. Rutherford also announced that forward Erik Cole has been added to the team’s injured reserve list.

Ladd, 21, suffered an ankle injury on Oct. 6 at Washington and has missed the Hurricanes’ last 16 games. The third-year winger scored one goal in Carolina’s first three games of 2007-08 and averaged 14:48 of ice time per game before being sidelined.

Cole, 29, is being placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Tuesday. The Oswego, NY, native missed the Hurricanes’ game at Tampa Bay on Wednesday after injuring his neck in the Hurricanes’ 4-3 win at Florida on Monday. He will be eligible to return to Carolina’s lineup on Wednesday, Nov. 21, when the Hurricanes host Philadelphia.
