RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated defenseman Brett Pesce from injured reserve.

Pesce, 23, has recorded nine assists in 39 games with the Hurricanes this season. The Tarrytown, NY, native ranks second on the team in blocked shots (72) and third in time on ice per game (21:18). Pesce was drafted by the Hurricanes in the third round, 66th overall, in the 2013 NHL Draft and has earned 45 points (6g, 39a) in 190 career games with Carolina.
