—The Carolina Hurricanes today announced the groups for their first day of official on-ice practice for their 2008 training camp. The team will practice in three separate groups beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning at the RBC Center. An updated training camp roster and a breakdown by groups are attached to this release. Saturday’s practice is open to the media, but closed to the general public because of the football game between N.C. State University and East Carolina University at Carter-Finley Stadium, adjacent to the RBC Center.
Group A is scheduled to be on the ice from 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Group B will skate from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. And group C will take the ice from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Each group of players will be available to the media when they complete their on-ice session, prior to the start of their off-ice workout sessions. Please note that only the players who have completed their on-ice workouts will be available to the media during each access period.
Due to the football game, adjacent to the RBC Center, media are asked to show the parking personnel their press identification and proceed to the north end loading dock area for parking. The numbered spaces around the RBC Center are all reserved for Wolfpack football ticket holders. From the north end parking lots, media may enter the arena through the north security entrance.
The Carolina Hurricanes open their regular season schedule on Friday, Oct. 10 against the Florida Panthers. For information on Hurricanes ticket packages, visit www.CarolinaHurricanes.com or call 1-866-NHL-CANES. Single-game Hurricanes tickets for October and November will go on sale on Sept. 21 in conjunction with the Caniac Carnival, and will be available at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center, CarolinaHurricanes.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
