FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Jan. 20, 2006
RALEIGH, NC – Michael Hurley, Director of Broadcast and Corporate Sales for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that FSN South, the team’s cable television partner, will carry the game on Monday, Jan. 23 against the Montreal Canadiens. OLN, the NHL’s exclusive national cable carrier, has added the Hurricanes’ final game of the season, on April 18 against the Buffalo Sabres. FSN South chose to add the Montreal game to keep its total game broadcasts for the season at 64 games. As always, Hurricanes television play-by-play voice John Forslund, and analyst Tripp Tracy will call the action during the FSN South telecasts. “When OLN selected the Hurricanes' season finale (4/18) with Buffalo, a game that was to have aired on FSN South, we approached the team and committed to airing another game, to ensure that Carolina fans didn't miss out on any of their division-leading team's action,”
said Jeff Genthner, FSN South vice president and general manager. “We're pleased that the Hurricanes made this home date with Montreal available for us.”
