CarolinaHurricanes.com is en route to Buffalo for the 2016 NHL Draft on June 24-25. We’ll be bringing you comprehensive written, video and social coverage this weekend across our digital platforms. Here’s how you can follow along so you don’t miss any of the action.
CarolinaHurricanes.com is, as always, your source for all things Hurricanes, and our written 2016 NHL Draft coverage is presented by Buffalo Brothers. On both Friday (round 1) and Saturday (rounds 2-7), we’ll fire up live blogs in order to compile various forms of content – including written updates, video interviews, notable social posts and more – in order to keep you informed as the draft moves along.
I’ll also pen standalone pieces throughout the weekend, including a first-round wrap-up, a pick-by-pick breakdown on Saturday and more.
Our draft preview coverage took a different angle this year. Here are the four articles that serve as a primer for this year’s event.
In addition to finding video links in our draft live blogs, you’ll see each and every one of our videos from Buffalo right here.
Across all of our social platforms, you can join and follow the conversation by using the hashtag #CanesDraft.
Twitter: All of the most-timely information, specifically the announcement of draft picks as they happen, will be posted to Twitter. We’ll also be conducting a Q&A with one or both of the team’s first-round picks utilizing our Twitter Mirror.
Instagram: Keep an eye out for player profile graphics and unique shots from the draft.
Facebook: You’ll find more timely information here, including links to our live blogs, written pieces and videos.
Snapchat: You never know what sort of behind-the-scenes madness we might capture for our Snapchat story.
Periscope: Want to see a draft pick’s media scrum live? We’ll have you covered on Periscope.
You’ll likely also see content posted on Vine, Pinterest and YouTube, but the platforms above will be your main source for #CanesDraft coverage.
While we’re bringing you live coverage from Buffalo, you can watch the first round at PNC Arena at the Hurricanes’ annual draft party. The event, which features free admission and parking, begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and is hosted by John Forslund and Shane Willis. All fans in attendance will receive this draft poster, and a special draft day food and beverage selection with discounted pricing will be available. Click here for more information.
