A day after Bryan Moore was selected third overall in the USHL Futures Draft
, the Junior Hurricanes made two more splashes at the USHL Entry Draft.
Defensemen Trevor Owens, who earlier this past season became the first North Carolina developed player to go directly from the Junior Hurricanes to play in the USHL, was drafted in the fourth round, 46th overall, by the Waterloo Black Hawks. Owens played two games for the Chicago Steel last season.
Shortly after that, fellow defenseman Sean Flynn made Junior Hurricanes history as the fourth member of the organization to be taken in the OHL or USHL drafts in the month of May, going 57th overall to the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders in the fourth round. Flynn has played in the Triangle area for most of his hockey career, and has been a AAA Junior Hurricane for three seasons.
