impressed with the city of Raleigh and all of our Caniacs with how everyone has come together to prepare our city for the 2011 NHL All-Star game.  For a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, I could not be more proud to show off our arena and my hometown.

We all know there is excitement surrounding the All-Star game, but we have a lot of exciting and important events coming up to benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

All-Star 5K

I am not a fan of running in the cold, but I am ignoring my lungs’ pleas and running the 5K with over 1,100 participants this Saturday, January 29th.  The All-Star 5K will be at the RBC Center at 9:00am.  It is an exciting start to a full day of All-Star events and festivities.

It is not too late to sign up! You can still sign up online at or you can register the morning of the race.  It is only $30 now or $35 on race day to sign up and each participant will receive an All-Star 5K long-sleeve t-shirt.  All of the proceeds benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

6th Annual Casino Night & Wine Tasting presented by Convergence Technologies

It is time for you to be a star for a night!  Join us on March 13th at the RBC Center from 6pm-10pm as the floor of the RBC Center transforms into a glamorous red carpet event.

Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with Carolina Hurricanes players, coaches, staff and front office executives. The night features a wine tasting, as well as casino gaming tables with Hurricanes players serving as dealers. There are also silent and live auction items that contribute to the excitement and success of the night.  This is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the Kids 'N Community Foundation.

Last year’s event generated over $150,000 for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.  Please join us as we work to raise funds to better the lives of the kids in OUR community.

You can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster channels, at the Time Warner Cable Box Office, or by calling Community Relations at (919) 467-7825.

Valentine’s Day Mystery Autographed T-Shirts

Men, we have the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the woman in your life.  Prior to the game on February 5th, we will be selling our Valentine’s Day T-shirts at the Kids ‘N Community kiosk (section 129).

Each t-shirt is signed by a Carolina Hurricanes player.  The shirts are pink (definitely a plus), long-sleeve, and have our Kids ‘N Community heart logo on the front.  Each shirt is $40 and we have a limited amount of 300 available (S-XXL). Please bring cash to help avoid waiting in line.  You will receive a Certificate of Authenticity and a tax receipt for each purchase.

All proceeds benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

St. Patrick’s Day Pucks

St. Patrick’s Day is coming a day early at the RBC Center!  At the March 16th game you will have the chance to purchase the last puck of our holiday mystery puck series.  We will be selling 300 Carolina Hurricanes St. Patty’s Day pucks for $30 each at the Kids ‘N Community Foundation kiosk outside of section 129.

Each green puck will be autographed by a Carolina Hurricanes player.  We will begin selling the pucks when the doors open and please bring cash to help avoid waiting in line.  Each puck is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and tax receipt.  All proceeds will benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.  Come and see if you have the ‘Luck of the Irish’.

Thank you to all of the Caniacs that have purchased a holiday mystery puck this season.  We are thrilled at the success of the fundraiser.

Above are four different fundraisers that you can take part in to be an “All-Star” in our community.  All of the funds we raise go directly back out into the community in the form of monetary grants to non-profit children’s organizations. We truly believe we have the greatest fans in the NHL and we hope all of you will help us reach out to the kids that need us most.
