The 13th Annual Kids ‘N Community Foundation charity golf tournament is scheduled to take place Monday, September 27, 2010. We are currently working on the final details of the tournament before opening up official registration. In the meantime, if you want to be first on the list to receive the registration packet or if you have questions about sponsorships, please email the Community Relations department at email@example.com
Over the years, the golf tournament has generated much-needed funds for children and their families in our community. The generous support of corporate sponsors and golf participants allows the Kids ‘N Community Foundation to offer monetary grants to qualified non-profit organizations that focus on the health, educational and underserved population needs of children in our community. Last year’s golf tournament raised $86,000 for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation. During the 2009-10 season, the Kids ‘N Community Foundation awarded a total of $458,274 in cash grants to 52 different children’s charities.
The golf tournament has become a great way for the Foundation and Hurricanes supporters to kick off the new season. Foursomes are paired with a Carolina Hurricanes player, coach, front office executive or broadcaster for a round of golf. The day is capped off with a post-tournament reception where the top three low net and low gross teams are announced and on-course games/contest winners receive their prizes.
We’ve had the opportunity the past few years to host a VIP Pairings Party prior to the tournament where Hurricanes players, coaches, broadcasters and front office staff join participants and guests for the revelation of pairings. The pairings party included silent and live auctions, open bar, food and the tournament gift bag (valued at $250) distribution. We hope to continue this unique part of our tournament again this year.
We are looking forward to kicking off another year of fundraising for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation. The golf tournament provides an intimate setting where you could learn the ins and outs of what it’s like to be a GM or the head coach of the team, or maybe you’d find out if Tuomo Ruutu
is as hard hitting on the course as he is on the ice, or perhaps Eric Staal
could teach you a few things about your backswing. Even though you’d be enjoying a unique experience on the course, your participation in the golf tournament will have a direct, positive effect on the lives of children and their families in our community.
Again, if you have questions or would like more information on this year’s 13th Annual Kids ‘N Community Foundation golf tournament, please email the community relations department at firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to see you on the course!
