Team to Provide Tickets and Bus Transportation

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 11, 2004) – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the organization is providing a holiday trip for their season ticket and suite holders to see the team’s AHL affiliate Lowell Lock Monsters take on the Norfolk Admirals at the Norfolk Scope Arena on Saturday Dec. 11.

The trip is part of an ongoing effort to provide activities for Carolina Hurricanes partners and fans so they can stay connected to the team during the current lockout. Recent events have included a town hall meeting with team owner Peter Karmanos Jr. and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman followed by a Halloween event which featured part of the RBC Center decorated in a haunted fashion for the holiday, trick or treating for young fans, refreshments and a movie on the jumbotron.

"We're pleased to offer these activities to our partners and fans," said Sheila Carter, Manager of Corporate Communications for the Hurricanes. “Our priority is to continually create opportunities that will keep our fans engaged and show our appreciation for their support.”

Fans will be able to see some of their favorite players in action such as Eric Staal, Ryan Bayda and Bruno St. Jacques in addition to promising young goaltender, Cam Ward. The Lock Monsters are off to a solid start this season with 11 points in the first nine games. Staal leads the team with 13 points.
