CAROLINA HURRICANES REASSIGN CRAIG ADAMS

RALEIGH, NC (January 29, 2001) – Jim Rutherford, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the National Hockey League Carolina Hurricanes, announced today the team has reassigned rookie right winger Craig Adams to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the International Hockey League.

Adams, 23, saw action in 25 games this season with the Hurricanes. He had one goal, 15 penalty minutes and was a healthy scratch in the past 11 games. Adams hasn’t been in the lineup since Jan. 3 against Tampa Bay.

Adams, who had 12 goals and 12 assists in 73 games for Cincinnati last season, was Carolina’s ninth pick (223rd overall) in the ninth round of the 1996 NHL Draft out of Harvard University. He has been a healthy scratch in 23 games for the Hurricanes.
