CAROLINA HURRICANES CONDUCT 2000 CONDITIONING CAMP FROM AUGUST 5-11

RALEIGH, NC (July 18, 2000) – In preparation for the team’s 2000 Training Camp and upcoming 2000-01 NHL season, the Carolina Hurricanes are conducting a week-long conditioning camp for 13 of the team’s top prospects beginning on August 5, 2000. Under the supervision of Hurricanes Head Athletic Therapist/Strength and Conditioning Coach Peter Friesen, the players will be introduced to various training techniques and proper nutritional programs that are essential to their development both on and off the ice.

Players scheduled to attend the conditioning camp include 1998 first-round pick Jeff Heerema, goaltender Jean-Marc Pelletier, and 2000 draft picks Tomas Kurka, Jared Newman, and Niclas Wallin.
