Donation Tied to Performance of Canes' Francis

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 29, 2003) – The Carolina Hurricanes Booster Club announced today that the Club will donate $10 for every goal and assist scored by Carolina Hurricanes Captain Ron Francis during the 2003-2004 season to NC Special Olympics.

The program, titled the "10 for 10" Program, will be the first such effort for the Booster Club to use player statistics tied with a donation amount. Regardless of final statistics, the Club will donate a minimum of $500 for this program to the NC Special Olympics.

In addition to this program, the Booster Club will continue its Fan Favorite Player of the Year Award. For a $1 donation, fans can vote for their favorite Hurricanes player. All proceeds from the Fan Favorite go to the Carolina Hurricanes Kids N’ Community Foundation.
