RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced Tuesday evening that the team has trimmed four players from its training camp roster. Forwards Drayson Bowman (Spokane – WHL), Justin McCrae (Saskatoon – WHL), Harrison Reed (Sarnia – OHL) and Chris Terry (Plymouth – OHL) will return to their respective Canadian Hockey League clubs after spending a week in training camp with the Hurricanes.
The remaining 48 players in Carolina’s camp will take to the ice for two practice sessions on Thursday. Group A will skate from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., while Group B, consisting of the majority of the Hurricanes’ veteran players, will take the ice from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A listing of players and their respective groups is attached to this release, as is an updated training camp roster.
The Hurricanes continue their 2007-08 preseason schedule when they host the Nashville Predators on Friday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at the RBC Center in the first game of a home-and-home, back-to-back set between the clubs.
